Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026-09-19 · Last updated: 2026-09-19

In short: We do not ask you to create an account. We do not store your learning records on our servers — they stay in your own browser. We do use Google AdSense and Google Analytics, which set cookies. You can opt out of personalised ads at any time.

1. Who we are

This site is operated by JinnyLang Korean Language Institute (지니랑 한국어연구소), an individual business based in the Republic of Korea, providing free Korean-language learning tools.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you give us

We only receive personal information when you choose to send it — for example, when you submit a free consultation or trial request through our Google Forms. Those forms may ask for your name, email address, native language, and your current Korean level. We use this only to reply to you and to arrange the lesson you requested.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit, our analytics and advertising providers may automatically collect:

  • IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
  • Browser type, device type, operating system, screen size
  • Pages viewed, time on page, referring website
  • Cookies and similar identifiers

2.3 Data kept in your own browser

Our learning tools save your progress — such as flashcard history, quiz scores, and preferred settings — using your browser's local storage. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us. Clearing your browser data will erase it.

3. Cookies and advertising

This site is free to use and is funded by advertising.

  • Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which tools are useful and which pages people leave. We do not use it to identify individuals.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

4. Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from these regions, we ask for your consent before non-essential cookies (including advertising and analytics cookies) are set, in line with Google's EU User Consent Policy. You may withdraw or change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the site footer.

Our legal bases for processing are your consent (cookies, marketing) and our legitimate interest in operating and improving the site.
